Title: Sheriff Sales - Have you tried purchasing a property?

Has anyone ever tried to purchase a house or property through a Sheriff sale?  What experience did you have?  Did you find the process easy? 

If you happened to be successful what shape was the property in afterwords?  Did you experience any hidden liens?
