Title: where are the listings?
Post by: ODURK on July 03, 2006, 01:56:23 PM

...Just wondering if there are schedules that can be obtained for tax sale auctions on line. Where do you all learn about upcoming auctions?
Thanks
OD

Hi Odurk,

I like the title of your post "Where are the listings?".  The next update is set for this weekend on the Ontario side.  Alberta and New Brunswick have been updated this weekend and will continue to be updated.  As for the New York and Texas, there is no set timetable for them at the moment.

Recently the amount of properties have been reduced.  This is normal in the summer and it will pickup

Are you wanting us to give away our secrets?

When I started out I payed to get a bi weekly email on tax sales in Ontario.  It wasn't till I did some searching of the internet that I have found a lot more. Go to google.com and type "tax sales" make sure to use quotes or brackets. To cut down on the hits you may want to select pages from Canada under the search window.

I moved this to the links section because I think it's a great resource for people starting out.

Another method is to go directly to the city or region website.  For example the city of Sudbury did a great job of post maps, status information and contact information on a recent tax sale property.  Search for "City of Sudbury tax sale property" in google or just search the city website.  This method works if you want to focus on a region because often tax sales happen only yearly and most city websites tell you when the next tax sale property is being held.

Cornwall even includes pictures on there web sight, there's one there now that's a house and funeral parlor. I guess this exemplifies the old adage that (the only two certainties in life are death and taxes ::))
