Title: GIS GPS RTK Glonass etc
Post by: Pfm1011 on April 27, 2019, 05:49:38 PM
Just wondering what software people are using for GIS.

I am using Qgis and wondering if there is something better. I find it very counterintuitive  and almost like geeks trying to show off.   "You dont crop  . you clip with polygon" FFS .Took me a day to figure that out "  Looking for more novice level software.

As per GPS/Glonass  what hardware and software are people using for active location mapping in the field.  I am looking at some U-Blox hardware  which apparently can go submeter  and if you spend 700 can set up RTK base /rover  down to centimeters.

Im presume RTK is being anal and simple setup without it should do the trick.  Any recommendations for a cheap hardware kit and windows /laptop software .

I essentially want to  be able to walk a property and nail a border to the foot/inch

Or does all this go under "what the hell are you babbling about"
