THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF ST. THOMAS


TAKE NOTICE that tenders are invited for the purchase of the land(s)
described below and will be received until 3:00 p.m. local time on
October 17, 2006, at St. Thomas City Hall, 545 Talbot Street, St.
Thomas, Ontario.
The tenders will then be opened in public on the same day at St. Thomas
City Hall, 545 Talbot Street, St. Thomas, Ontario at 3:30 p.m.
Description of Lands:

City of St. Thomas, County of Elgin, being composed of part of City Lot
Number Forty-two (42) on the East side of Alma Street, in that block of
Lots which is bounded on the North by Redan Street, on the East by
Alma Street, according to Registered Plan Number Forty-three (43) and
more particularly described as follows:

COMMENCING at the Northwest angle of said Lot 42;
THENCE East along the Northerly limit of said Lot 42, One Hundred
and Seventy-eight feet (187’) more or less to the North East angle
thereof;
THENCE South along the East limit of said Lot 42, Forty feet (40’) to a
point;
THENCE West parallel to the Northerly limit of said Lot 42, One
Hundred and Seventy-eight feet (178’) more or less to the Easterly limit
of Alma Street;
THENCE North along the Easterly limit of Alma Street, Forty Feet (40’)
to the place of beginning.
SUBJECT TO a right-of-way, in and upon the Southerly Seven feet (7’)
of the Westerly Eighty-three feet (83’) of the lands hereby conveyed for
the use of the Owners for the time being of the lands adjoining hereby
conveyed on the South.
BEING the lands lastly described in Instrument No. 238724,
And known municipally as 47 Alma Street, St. Thomas, Ontario.
Minimum Tender Amount: $14,146.14

Tenders must be submitted in the prescribed form and must be
accompanied by a deposit in the form of a money order or of a bank
draft or cheque certified by a bank or trust corporation payable to the
municipality and representing at least 20 per cent of the tender amount.
Except as follows, the municipality makes no representation regarding
the title to or any other matters relating to the land to be sold.
Responsibility for ascertaining these matters rests with the potential
purchasers.
This sale is governed by the Municipal Act, 2001 and the Municipal Tax
Sales Act. The successful purchaser will be required to pay the amount
tendered plus accumulated taxes and the relevant land transfer tax.
The municipality has no obligation to provide vacant possession to the
successful purchaser.
