The house 1 has been sold.

Update to the house 2:

Rented for $2,175 monthly; historical average monthly utilities (hydro+water+gas): $280; current rental contract ends end of April 2010.

Asking $270,000  :)

I believe it still is and I would recommend that you approach Jayz via a private Message.  I have actually looked at the property myself as a possible investment as it is in easy walking distance
of new western business school and campus in general.  For someone looking for a quality student rental as an investment it appears to have potential. 

Personally I am tied up with improving too much other real estate and have to take a pass for the time being.
