i was just browsing through the ads on this website and saw all these listings that advertised 'depth'. what on earth does that mean?

is there any easy way to read these listings and get even a rough idea of what you're going to see when you drive out there? plan 731? what is that? lot 363? is that the location? frontage & depth - are those dimensions? is that a tiny little lot that's 4000m2? zoned R1(h)? huh?

Words like plan and lot are only helpful if you have a planning map of the city which you need to get at city hall.  What I do, if there is an address I can look that up on google maps (maps.google.com), if not then I try and get a look at the area to figure out where the property is.  In most case you have to get the information package(provided by the city at a cost of 7 dollars or so), usually if there are 20 properties in the same area you only need one package to get a good idea of all of the properties and then you can drive down and checkout the properties.

You might be referring to these new properties for LaSalle

Plan 731 Lot 363. Frontage 51.67 ft., Depth 86.67 ft. Zoned R1(h).
Located on Woodmont Cres E/S
Minimum Tender Amount: $649.12

Its 51.67ft across and 86.67ft from the road to the end of the property.  Its zoned Rural.

I think these properties are really small for the area.  But for the cost of $700+, it might be a good camping site.  I wonder how available building permits are for these locations

If you are looking at the properties in LaSalle I would suggest that you email Nancy Skinner nskinner@town.lasalle.on.ca and ask for information on the property you are interested in.  They are all zoned Agriculture not residential,

When I emailed about the one property that had 460 ft frontage I found the that the propert had been eroded away by The River Canard waterway leaving only 5 feet. I don't know if any of the others are the same, but I would email or call before spending any time on it.

I briefly glanced at these properties...wouldn't the "h" mean it is hazardous land....makes sence regarding the comment about most of the land being eroded away.    Maybe you could setup a toll for people crossing your property along the river....LOL   Just kidding!
