Title: Dysart tax sale
Post by: dogmacanada on September 02, 2015, 10:35:35 PM
Anyone bidding, did the drive by last week when we checked out north kawartha...  HOARDER HOUSE.  Be carefully... Floor to ceiling garbage.  Lots of water around the foundation, and it hadn't rained in days... Any thoughts?  15,000?

1) sounds like a candidate for fire department practice.

2) have to evaluate it on land value only and put in an allowance for added costs of demolition / garbage disposal.

I had a look at it a week ago. Terrible condition indeed. Roof is completely brittled. Wonder what happened under the roof during last few brutal winters...

I called the municipal yesterday and they said the highest bid was $61250. Hope he won't get a heart attack when he sees the house... Obviously he didn't do his homework. Good luck to him.

Did they say how many bids?  We went in at 25,000  thought it was a solid make money bid

No they didn't mention how many bids. It won't be much if they actually see the house. We will find out within 2 weeks.
