The winner was 57,000 and second place was 41,000 with 10 bids in total and me in last place. I was hoping that tith the holidays people would be too busy to bid and I could sneak in with a minimum bid but no such luck this time.

I don't know what I'm missing (or have been drinking to the extreme!) but I cannot find any Marmora property, or trailer park, in any recent tax sale posting. I missed a notice a year or two ago, but this one has me doubting my gray matter. Can anyone refer me to the pertinent notice?

  Thanks.

Sounds like Netpred has bought in reinforcements to help him with all of my beer so I guess I am to blame.

Hope this helps

Curious if anyone knows the results for Marmora.  I too looked at it but was scared of the mobile homes.

The mention of Marmora brought back memories of the mid-80s, when I often went to Marmora, approaching from the west on #7 Highway; 5 -10 miles out, on the south side, was a nice, but sort-of rundown, property, having a bungalow w attached garage, nice lot, with T shaped drive allowing one to drive out onto the highway. Place always padlocked and looked sort of forlorn; tried reaching owner, without success, for over a year. Then went by one day, place is immaculate, white gravel on driveway, new roof, new windows, new paint or siding, grass all trimmed, flower, etc etc. 3 or 4 years later, mentioned it to relatives out that way, to find that someone bought it at a tax sale, cut the locks, threw out the contents, rehabbed the place, & moved in. A few months later comes a knock on the door. Visitor asks "what the hell are you doing in my house, & where's all my furniture?" Arguments, police, visitor eventually proves tax bills are all paid up-to-date, and new owner finally evicted, as the property he bought at tax sale was on the north side of the highway, about a mile further west. No compensation for really prettying the place up. The real owner was a guy who worked in either oil or logging, in Alberta or BC, respectively, and only came home every 8 - 10 months.
