Did I miss something?? This sale showed up yesterday on the board and closes tommorrow.
Are the locals trying to pull a fast one or was it in the gazette a month ago.

Just got an Email from a lady at the Municipal office who explained that the notice was suppose to be in last months gazette but didn't make it.
Didn't say anything about canceling the sale, just sorry for the inconvenience.
Can they do that? is it a requirement. I didn't make a big stink as I haven't even looked at the properties yet but it all seems a bit unusual.

It was in the Gazette on  April 4th....clearly a violation of Regulation 181/03.  The Treasurer is now aware of it, and apparently a consultant was overseeing the logistics of it all....(probably won't be a consultant for much longer).  The Regulation requires 7 days minimum...most Municipalities allow 3 to 4 weeks to be on the safe side, and allow people time to do their research.  

As soon as I hear back from the Treasurer as to the course of action to correct, I'll let you know.

Definition of a consultant....a man with a brief-case who is at least 50 miles (80 kilometers) from home, and he has the ability to borrow your watch to tell you what time it is.

The Treasurer has just advised me that the closing date for the sale has been extended to April 15th, 2009.

Does anyone own a island in the north passage??  does anyone have the results for this sale?

Rumour has it someone from this board may have picked up a Georgian Bay island in the north channel.  Seven plus acres; about a mile from shore and close to a major resort.  I have heard through the grapevine that it cost $67,000 with second bid junder $60,000.  Apparently only 1 other property sold. 

Apparently owner before the last one (bankrupt US corporation) was this organization and the island came from their private collection.

67k  nice job, I would think its worth 3 times that....any other opinions

How bizarre this game is..Private island in the north 2 bids, sells for 1/3 value

..essentially knockdown in welland..30 or so bids and sells for over

I guess if I was the island winner I would be seeing if Vladi can help move the island
