If you have the registered plan number you can obtain a copy of the plan from the corresponding registry office. Plans starting with 21R would be in Hastings County, 42R would be Parry Sound District etc.
Rob provided a great thread listing all the Registry Office contact info for Ontario (See Nov13, 2005)
For an updated list ,I would suggest checking the Ontario Ministry of Gov't Services site. They have a list of all of the Registry Office Locations as well.
Typically the Plan Number will be included in the legal description of the property if the land is surveyed on a registered plan. Many times the MLS listings will neglect to include that information so you may have to have the realtor confirm the plan number.
