Hi there, I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I've been keeping my eye the last few years on this website for potential hunting properties that would go up for 'tax sale'. I've been watching the weekly listings but really haven't found nothing much. Now my question; would vacated land/unpaid taxes property be sold on here without a dwelling? or basically would it be a large property 40+ acres with home be my only alternative... if so would a barn be considered a dwelling?
Basically i'd be interested in buying some hunting property 45-60 min north of Toronto without paying an astronomical price of $2000-3000-4000+ per acre....is it even possible? Thoughts...

The short answer is yes - especially if you are ok with EP or similar zoning which prohibts building.
You will be paying far les than the prices in your post.
