Title: Trent Hills island properties

Dave since this is your area of expertise, what is your opinion of the island properties and estimated sale prices?  Should I even look or are you bidding these?

You know Im to stupid to know better, I could be happy anywhere. Is the other venue the island coming up in rich mans cottage county?

PS. since I know you have property on rice lake, there is a campground with 6 cabins up for auction, but closing tomorrow.  403 auctions.

Let me rant a bit. The problem I have with water access properties in general or Island properties in specific at this time of year is access.  Sometimes I feel picked on.  Last year at this time we had Sharbot Lake that went for just below $100,000 and now we have 1/2 dozen Island properties in three different townships including Carling.  I hope this is not the beginning of a trend.  

Cottage properties are expensive and tax sales usually go for well above minimum particularly if there is a dwelling in reasonable condition.  For large sums of money I do not prefer to bid sight unseen because even with the best aerial photography you can pick up important details that looking from a remote computer you miss.  Even rock island on Belmont lake might have an unusual hidden value.

A dwelling can be a plus or even a minus like the recent one in Haldimand county on Lake Erie.  

Water access is tough to get a look see at the beginning of summer let alone this time of year when it is suicidal.  What I don't understand is why municipal treaurers shoot themselves in the foot. They get all the money if no one claims it out of court so why do they do their best to make it difficult for us to get the confidence to make a proper good offer  

Competing against this mob and smart guys like you,  8) and G2020 is brutal.  I have had a reasonably good year in spite of some disappointments but that is the nature of this business.  The difference  for me this year between a reasonably good year and a great year is only a little over $2,000 in total on more then one bid.  

Its a little early in the day to have Carling the beer and I prefer the older Keith's not the newer O'keefe which in gaelic means son of.
