A few houses coming up that may be tempting. I have not done any research on these but I did look at some Deseronto property about 10 years ago. Anyone considering a bid should look at the annual taxes of these places. Not the assessed value but the amount of taxes payable. The property I looked at was really ordinary waterfront and, as I recall, the taxes were around $10,000. I think this is a reflection of the municipality having no commercial or industrial tax base or because of the high cost of providing social services.
For those who don't know, multiply the total tax rate by the assesseed value and you will get the tax bill.
