Anybody know what the properties went for?
-
The house on Deeare St went for 88,888.88
-
I didnt look into it but it looked good on streetscape..I think someone did well with that

I bid on the house myself but there could be a mould issue. The house has been sitting for 7 years with no heat or hydro. If mould is in the house the remediation cost would be astronomical and getting a clearance on a mould issue is a pain in the butt. The Garage structure is crumbling and who knows what you will find when you open doors. The basement flooded many times and the house needs to be updated. The person that bought it will have to put money into it. I think it was to expensive for what needs to be fixed.

I stand corrected..

Hi,
new to this site, the house in welland does not have a mold issue, i looked into it. and the garage all it needed was some parging of the exterior wall,...i had budgeted 20k tops (i am a contractor).
Assessed value was 143 so someone out there got a good deal no doubt
there were bids in the high 80's and high 70's around 5-6 all together
highest bid was for 88,888.88 - oriental probably because of the 8's are considered good luck :-)
I guess i'll try my luck at the mississauga one and see how it goes, has anyone been inside?, I drove around and tried to look in but could not see anything

Thanks for the info. I think if it is tagged a mould house the profit on that house would be a lot less than you think . I own a restoration company and to remove large amounts of mould is very costly. Then you must obtain a clearance certificate. Which is a pain in the butt!! Also when you try to sell and it is deemed mould house,it is hard to sell. My company cleans allot of grow ops and usually the house ends up being gutted. watch out for mould it can be the difference from profiting to losing.
