Title: 498 Dunkirk Ave, Oshawa - a former crystal meth lab
Post by: PG on August 30, 2010, 02:51:39 PM
Has anyone had any experience in purchasing a house that was a former crystal meth lab?

I was interested in 498 Dunkirk Ave, Oshawa but upon doing a little due dilligence I came across the following:

and

I haven't searched title yet, but my fear is that all expenses of the environmental clean up may have been put against the title, or in the alternative, any ongoing environmental liability would not make the property worthwile at any cost.

Would anyone know if such a house is salvageable?

Regards,

Peter

I do not know if their is any liens on this one but I will say even if there is not a lien I would not touch it. I knew some one in St Catherines who purchased a former crystal meth lab. The cost of clean up are Huge. Even if you got it at mim tender (41,633.22) its to risky.
