I did not win any of my 4 bids.
I don't have the figures but the 40 acre was over $40k.
The bids were way over the assesed values.
My friend who was there will email me result when he gets home.

Preliminary results: The 100, 50, and 25 acre landlocked parcels went for 40,010, 20,000 and 10,000 respectively. The 40 acre went for 39,939.30. Regarding the back lots that were asked about, 09-01  got $20,300 and 29 bids, 09-17 got $11,025 and 8 bids, 09-25 got $14,305 and 14 bids. and 09-19 got 10,346.99 and 13 bids. In general all of the aforementioned were above assessed value and hard for me to understand the high amounts paid. A member of this board was the sole bidder on the wetland waterfront - well played.

I'm usually the one who complains about overbidding but not this time. Most of the bidding seemed fairly reasonable.  The backlots (which are the ones with no road frontage, the 100, 50 and 25 acres lots) were bid a little too high and over assessed value but none the less those people can still flip those for a small profit.
The road frontage lots were mostly under assessed value and all the winners could sell for a reasonable profit.  That to me makes them reasonably good bids.  When you have that many bidders prices are going to be a little higher than they would normally.
09-01 the 5 acre lot had 29 bids!!  The winner was only 2000 over second place and still 8500 under the assessed value.  Lots like that one on MLS are double what he bid.  To beat 29 people and still get it for a reasonable price where he can double his money is brilliant bidding as far as Im concerned.

Congrats.

[/quote] (One of these days I will have to remind myself to take an instruction course from Rob on how to get these quotes right).

Not me.  This this not my usual territory and I am too busy with the other side of the business what with auctions up in gods country and some other things which if I can ever get the checks I will believe it.

All you single people don't realize sometimes how lucky you are not to have someone who reminds you of your foibles.  Sometimes I think the buying is the easy part.  Just wait until you meet someone who claims to want to buy a bunch of your cheap property in one fell swoop, then the tough work begins.  Trying to prepare offers of purchase and sale and remembering all the details and dealing with the skeptism of your significant other. (It is then you wonder if your stroke of genius at making her co-owner comes at too high a price) LOL

This has all the fingerprints of people much smarter then me such as  8) or the number one poster on this board, or some of the smart people who I run into every so often at bid openings who remain quiet but who have introduced themselves privately over at the corner after everyone else has left.

haha I refuse to confirm or deny that I won a northern bruce property. Please dont always assume that when I congratulate a winner on a brilliant bid that I am talking about myself
But that was some smart bidding coming out on top of 29 bids and far under assessed value.
That the most amount of bids I've ever seen.
Just curious what is the record for most amount of bids?

20300   The lot number  136 went for 45k a year ago  and  I figured this one  would be an ask of 49 and a take of 45  or  a quick 39 .... It appears a "very well bought" is in order as I would think you can double your money in 6 to 8 months

As per high bids, Last years Bruce had 56 and 46 but I think a Toronto house can exceed a hundred bids

I think someone may have to buy a new boat soon with buys like that.  I was wondering on the weekend on Rice lake if the boat I heard was owned by a member of this forum.  You know the kind you hear two minutes before you normally see it for 30 seconds.  The only thing I don't like about those type of craft is you don't get enough time to appreciate the blond accessories.  :'( Thats where the Rice lakeweeds come in.  It slows down the boat enough so we can get a proper look.

I will never bid anymore if OTS is involved. No chance for a cheapo like myself.

Not a fan of the distorted prices that come with one of those advertised sales?
