FYI
For anybody that may be interested in one of the properties in Halton Hills.
12698 Fourth Line - Is a house, but appears to have somebody living in it.
12580 Highway 25 - Is a gas station that has had the power cut off. It also has an outstanding work order according to the ad.
11480 32nd Sideroad - Is a former wrecking yard. It was known as Johnson Auto Wreckers (aka JAWS). Mr. Johnson died around 1980 and the yard was sold. Not much happened there since, but the yard was pretty much cleaned out about 5 years ago. Which was a shame as there were some real treasures in there (think about what kind of cars were being scrapped in 1980).

The wrecking yard went for 80k second place 70k. About 10 bids.
The old Gas station had no bids.
I guess "Newbie" Les did not scare enough people away. ;)

I don't think that there's much left in the wrecking yard, but if the successful bidder is on this forum and wants to hire somebody to clean it up, feel free to PM me.
What can I say? I like to go through old wrecking yards.

;D Dumb people own it--Looks like a wrecking yard--(Bruce might be interested in the 100 car wrecks) and houses need repair and occupied. Owners did not pay taxes and in 2009, town slapped $90k.Odd how after 2 years the tax arrears jumped to $120K+.Also the rear is an Hydro wide corridor and appears the greeks built structures on it. There is a possable removable lien on it.Called the township and got nowhere. Lots of luck kicking these folks out and a good chance the lands polluted. I'm told that the area has no industry , since the hat factory closed--area is dead and property taxes are sky high.Anyone know how much it costs to get a soil study done for pollution levels. ???
Regarding that Halton Property--Township re-zoned the property from commercial to GREENBELT and the new sucker owner has to prove to the township it is NOT polluted.The repeat tax arrears station is another bumber--city past a planning law no auto repair or gas bar- try beauty salon-- :'(

Did a quick google search on "Les Pisrael". Found comments posted by someone by that name on many sites. Most of them were over-the-top government conspiracy postings. Bush and Israel were behind 9/11, Bill Clinton was in on it, etc.

I am a huge advocate of freedom of expression - especially on the internet in public forums. However, racism (also sexism, homophobia etc) crosses the line. A lot of times people make these kinds of references because they don't understand the hurtful and offensive nature of the remarks. Call it ignorance I suppose. Maybe Les falls into this category and maybe he has leanred something. Of course, he may also be showing his true colours.
As an aside, I am pleased by how quickly the members of this forum responded in denouncing the remark made by Les. It shows, it my view, a lot about the character of the members here.

Why the Dumb Comment--1st, I'm from Greek origin and a another dumb one for posting it :'( 2nd-Greece,because of it's own making, is in a financial mess --70% of all employed workers are civil servants and 3rd-- FYI: Amongst us Greeks-- the comment Dumb has stuck with us for decades--(when we arrived in Americas) :o
4th--reason the Dumb comment made--the property taxes were not paid since the father passed away and deeded to the daughter-5+ years and since the father died--the property has been neglected. Why the dumb comment applies--she should of sold it long time ago,maintained the property and sadly will be taking a big loss.
Regarding the posted 911 comment of mine--Thanks for repeating the truth :-* :-* :-*--Americans are dumber than dumb in believing Arabs could have pulled off the 9/II attacks--3 high rise steel concrete towers dropped in their foot prints,turned into dust--in less than 7.5 seconds :o
Anyone with a good Physics background would like to argue,that two planes DID bring down 3 towers--licky-dee- splits ???
