Title: Past Tax Sales
Post by: Seirra on September 08, 2005, 09:24:39 AM
Is it possible to get view tax sale notices prior to 2004? If so, who should I contact or is it online somewhere?

The information posted on this site is also available through the Ontario Gazette.  When Municipalities go to Tax Sale on delinquent properties they are required to post them in a newspaper having local circulation for four consecutive weeks in advance of the sale, and to post them once in the Ontario Gazette.

The Gazette (which is published weekly - and posted on Saturdays) is available on-line back to January of 2003.  Go to    http://www.ontariogazette.gov.on.ca/mbs/Gazette/Gazette.nsf/English%20Internal!OpenFrameSet

You can probably also obtain prior copies of the Gazette at Libraries - but why you would want to is beyond me.

Frank,

Thank you for the information. After a few hours of searching through the archives, I was able to find exactly what I was looking for.

If a minimum tender amount on a property was $24,000, any guesses as to what it may have sold for?
