Title: Surveyor in Simcoe area
Post by: BlueskyCan on December 07, 2010, 05:21:19 AM
Recently won property with Survey done in 1989. Could not locate the survey post/pole. I have the copy of survey showing LAT/LON and all other details. I need a surveyor just to locate the post based on the existing survey. The company who did the original survey is asking for $1500. Just to locate the existing post $1500 sounds little high to me. Anyone knows a land surveyor in Simcoe county [ Barrie area] ? Thanks to all

Try association of Ontario Land Surveyors site, find a surveyor.

  http://www.aols.org/directories/susearch.asp

Unless you were lucky enough to win a farm sounds like they want to charge to do a complete survey.  As him for a quote based on fees and expenses and at his convenience but with a defined completion date (say end of February) if you are not in a rush.

Doesn't always work but you might get the right surveyor.

That price is extremely high just to hit a marker, It expensive for an orginal survey , let alone a refresh

If you have the lat long. a $100 gps will get you within 10ft of the pin and any buyer will accept a 1989 survey

You should  be able to  rent  a sub-meter  gps fairly cheap
