Title: Finally A use for "Non Usable" Rural properties
Post by: Dave2 on January 10, 2011, 04:51:13 PM
My big problem with taxsales is that every property I want so does everyone else. As a result I rarely get the very cheap price I know I should and deserve. ;D

Still Sleepy's comment on using storage lockups as a way to get into expensive condo's got my creative juices flowing.  Of course out here in the country we don't have a lot of high rise condo's but we really have a lot of swampland.  So the key to getting a innovative taxsale property purchasing strategy in the country is to find a use for swamps and wetlands.

Surprise surprise I came up with one but it needs several swamps so I think the members of this board should have the opportunity to participate.  Behold "Swamp Soccer" all the way from Scotland.  (Never could figure why the English wanted to invade Scotland what is there to take anyways.)

Of course we have to come up with team names.  What does the board think of "Cobourg Cowdungs".   I mean we certainly have lots of shitty tax sale properties around here.   ;D  Of course we have to remember key members of this board.  How about "Rob's Roilers"  or "Netpred's ______"

Anyone know how to apply for a Government Grant.  I mean I need at least $5,000,000 in government funding for each member of this board to set this up.

Should be real fun to discuss zoning.  I guess I will have to get the government to pay to send me to Florida to see how they do it down there.

The only thing that worries me is the registration fee which if you see the website costs ___ plus VAT"  I am assuming the vat is for the beer and if you are living in west end  metro these things can be expensive to move.

Note as well in the interest of decency (this is a family board) "bottomless swamps" are not permitted.

Not so fast Dave2 - here in south Florida we have enough redneck ideas for our swampland, thank you. Also do not expect to get any good sized parcels of swampland on tax sale at the low ball prices that you want to pay. At one time I would wholesale off my excess tax sale property to the H.M. Dignam in batches of 10. They liked swampland but I never had any to sell. They had standing orders from Ducks Unlimited etc. I once bought a piece of the great swamp in Prince Edward County - everyone laughed when I offered the minimum at the auction. I immediately sold it for an incredible profit. The only bit of swampland that you are likely to get would not be much bigger than the box of tim bits that you owe me.

Dave:

Keep me out of this. You know what I think of wetlands. I would probably get stuck with what's his name on my team. Now if I had your luck, you know who would show up to play for me as you know who does for you. Do you know what I mean?

Too bad.  I even had an appropriate name for your team but as this is a family board it is not something we can post on this website.   ;) Actually the most interesting zoning question I have had which came by private post is whether I needed an adult entertainment liscence.   ;D

The best team name for the beer drinking members of the board named after this guy  8) I have heard so far  was "Frank-en-Steins"
