Lets says I wanted to bid on all 22 properties in Haldimand county. (Netpred give me some odds that none redeem.) I am an optimist.
(I accept the criticism that I am basically lazy but I would like to enjoy my beer and not have to fill out 22 bank drafts. Guilty as charged.)
I never can figure out way I lose beer bets. for example got this offer via private message.
Hi Dave,
Your offfer of a Haldimand redemption bet is too good to resist. You say there are 22 left. Someone with your scottish heritage should be willing to bet my 2 Kilannan ale to your one that by tomorrow there will be no more than 20 remaining. I did the 40 km cycle to the Kilannan brewery today to pick up some local craft for my wife's dinner party on Thursday. Bet?
Of course when I check OTS's twitter tweets I find the following.
Tax sale Haldimand County 2013-08-28-18 (760 South Coast Dr., Walpole) has been cancelled by the County.
Of course that is why some of the smart people do well at this business and poor Dave goes bankrupt buying eveyone beers.
Of course the only thing that saves me is that one scotttish beer (such as the brand referenced) is worth 100 irish beers ( you irishmen don't want to know what is in Guiness). So the bet becomes 50 to 1

Despite all the summer time redemptions we still bet on tax sales. If you won a beer bet, but it got redeemed, would you continue to bet? Strange!
