A couple of quick tips I would like to contribute here for those who might be interested in the Hamilton sheriff sale.
Auction was aborted last year because the owner came and bid against all others.
So, I guess, the sheriff came back with a better idea and with vengeance this time around.
Also note that the sale may be for the debtor's portion of ownership only, not necessarily the entire house.
Thanks for the insight Matt; I have never done a Sheriff Sale so I have many questions...first if you or anyone else can elaborate on how can the owner come back and bid against all others when my understanding is that they are sealed bids...how could the owner possibly come back and squash the deal. Also "the debtor's portion of ownership only, not necessarily the entire house" what does that mean ???

The following clause must be included in order to make sense of the sale. ;)
Bids must be received by the Sheriff at the John Sopinka Court House,
45 Main St, East, Hamilton, ON L8N 2B7
no later than 3:00 p.m. local time
on Friday, March 4, 2016.
Good luck
