If you are interested in Haliburton lands, then go to the Dysart site for info. on the May 9th sale.

They have posted maps and pictures of each property and provided pretty detailed condition information on each property.  Every Municipality should follow this lead.  None appear to be on water, and one is severely contaminated (you could probably get it real cheap - except that it is assessed at less than the taxes owing - so why bother).

46 24 010 000 53800 and 46 24 010 000 53900 - property with house (Woods Rd, Barnum Lake)

Has anyone paid a visit to this property?  Although town can't confirm it's believed to be unoccupied.  Any info would be appreciated to potentially save on a trip to visit...

Saw the property on Wed.  Very junky with lots garbage around.  The second lot that surrounds it is no longer up for sale.  Lot is small and the house on it would not be more than 500 square feet.  Not much there. Probably not worth bidding on.

Thanks for the info Metboy.  That's odd, who advised you the second lot was cancelled and when?  I contacted town last week and no mention was made of it.  The two roll numbers (properties) are assessed under combined value so what is assessed value of the house on its own now?  Town website doesn't appear to have updated with this development.
