Title: Saskatchewan and Other Provinces
Post by: landhunter on April 08, 2006, 01:14:48 PM
Hi

New member here.  I am interested in knowing if there are property tax sales for such provinces as Saskatchewan and PEI or other provinces that are not mentioned on this site.

For the listings on the site in Alberta, is there any way to link to a more detailed description of the properties for sale.  The listings are posted in a jarbled manner and find it somewhat confusing.   Do the listings have sites linked to them like the ones in Ontario?

Thanks for your help

I will definately begin looking for Saskatchewan properties now that I know there is an interest.  PEI does offer tax sale properties, but because of the size and the amount of properties and the personal auction type setting required I have choosen not to post properties from that area.  Take a look at how the New Bruswick tax sale properties are structured with auctions at a certain address.  They are similiar.  Although I will completely change my mind if there is more interested in PEI properties.

I do understand what you mean with the nature of the Alberta tax sale property listings.  They seem to list the exact property size measurements.  Just remember, you must be in person to purchase an Alberta tax sale property (unlike the ontario bid process).  Which might explain why they offer measurements instead of other information because you will get a chance to see the property in person.

Turns out the only advertising requirement for Sask. proprieties is to
a) advertise in the local paper and
b) post a list in the treasurer's office for a minimum of 60 days.
It is no longer a requirement to advertise the list in the Gazette.

Guess that's what is making it so hard to find them.

If your are interested the procedure that is to be followed in Saskatewan for tax enforcement, it is:
