Is it possible to do on-line land title searches? If so, how?
-
You could do a search through a number of companies search "land title search" in google. The cheapest I found was around $35.00. But the average price is about $55.00.
For example:
http://www.bdc-canada.com/DOCUM/services/land_registry_search.htm
If the property is available for electronic searching, the costs would be as follows:
Title search fee - $35.00
Document retrieval fee - $10.00
Disbursements in Toronto - $18.60
Disbursements outside Toronto - $29.40
Disbursements per page - $3.18
Total cost depends entirely on your requirements.
GST is extra where applicable.
Most electronic searches range between $56 and $85 in total. The total price depends on the number of documents and pages you request.
Most manual searches range between $100 and $200 due to the cost of disbursements.
Some searches will come back in 3 hours. Not sure about weekends.
