Title: Endangered Species Enforcement
Post by: Dave2 on June 25, 2010, 11:52:33 PM
Had a bit of a scare recently when a piece of land on which I bought at a tax sale
the local conservation authority thought they had discovered an endangered species of plant life.  Fortunately for me while rare it is not considered endangered.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Dave2,

I had a request this week to build Turtle Crossings under a major road since our shelled friends were getting flattened by semi-trucks. When we pointed out that the amphibians were not so much crossing the road as they were sunning on it, we were asked if we could pave the road in lighter colours so it wouldn't heat up so much, or build on a wall that turtles couldn't climb.

Sometimes the Cons Authority is more out of touch than the planners. Really.
