I went to the property in Plantagenet today, the one on Alfred St.  I know that after I post this people will say I must be interested in it but I am not.  Do not waste your time.  The building is more then a write off.  It will be an expence to remove it.  This being said you are only bidding on vacant land.  It is steep to the water, very unattractive waterfront, mucky water and not navigatable to the Ottawa.  If you want to go look for yourself I did make it into a good day trip taking the family to Papinak Zoo and stopping for dinner at Petree Isalnd.  This was very good.

The other property I did not look at.

This sounds like one that might burn someone. Look at it as land value less 10k to demolish. Bid accordingly - remember, this is not mls so there may be other issues etc.
