Post by: PG on May 12, 2016, 06:33:54 PM
Does anyone have the results of Hamilton's most recent tax sale?
Thanks

The "Early Spring Madness" started out from Selwyn continues in Hamilton...

The highest bid for the Emerald house was $155K followed by the second highest being $146K.
There were 36 bids.
MPAC Assessment for the house is 141K, and it was built in 1900.
Any comments on this are welcome.

As pfm has commented on the Niagara sales, I think there were people in Hamilton as well who never did their homework.
A strip of vacant land was sold.
It is in flood plain, a triangular shaped lot, and it is too small to do anything with it.
The City ad for tax sale clearly states this as follows:

NOTE: PROPERTY IS NON-DEVELOPABLE DUE TO
SIGNIFICANT ENVIRONMENTAL FEATURES
(FLOOD PLAIN)
