Title: Warsaw tax sales
Post by: Topwater on March 24, 2006, 11:39:38 PM
Anyone happened to know the result for the Douro-Dummer tax sales? or can anyone tell me how to find out tax sales results in general? Thanks.

Alex

I would assume from your question that you weren't at the sale.  Following the sale, the Tax Collector will usually prepare a report for the Council, this information is then available through the Clerk's office as it is aired in a public forum.  Most now have this material available on their web-sites (usually about a month after the sale).

No one will give you the results the day of the sale, since they must take the time to review the bids and confirm that they are all in order before make the call as to who was indeed successful - in some cases they may have to refer the results to their muncipal solicitor to advise.  Call the tax office sometime next week, and ask.  If you were one of the bidders and you are interested in a specific property they will tell you if you won or lost and what is happening with your deposit - usually mailed back to you the next week.

If you are really curious, and they absolutely refuse to give it to you, then you will need to file a request with the town Clerk under 'freedom of information'.  This can be quite a gruelling endeavour, but they must give it to you within a specified period, or you can appeal to a higher level who will order them to.

Thanks a lot. Frank. Knowing the results is very helpful to plan the strategy for future.
