Hi Dave,

a) obviously the closer to Hwy 9 will demand a higher price compared to the Barrie area were there is more available land to hunt on, so its a little hard to give an exact price without seeing the property
b) I mainly hunt turkey & deer (shotgun) but then again i'd be interested in waterfowl, bear & moose all based on the whereabouts (meaning rifle territory) and how much acreage
c) another answer I can't reply. My ideal spot would be within an hours drive (between Hwy 50 & 27 north to 89 area), but to go for bear/moose you at least to be closer to 2hrs

 Hi there, I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I've been keeping my eye the last few years on this website for potential hunting properties that would go up for 'tax sale'. I've been watching the weekly listings but really haven't found nothing much. The closet came 5-6 months ago when 200 acre property or so went up for auction and sold at a high price (Markdale). So I check on here regularly for the last 4-5 years now and this was the only property with some decent hunting acreage that went up for tax sale since...is there another way to go about doing this to find properties? or do I have to be patient...
Basically i'd be interested in buying some hunting property (acreage 50-100-200+ based on area) 45-60 min north of Toronto without paying an astronomical price of $2000-3000-4000+ per acre....is it even possible? Thoughts...

Now my question; would vacated land/unpaid taxes property be sold on here without a dwelling? or basically would it be a large property 40+ acres with home be my only alternative... if so would a barn be considered a dwelling?
