Roof of the house has been covered with tarps for the last few years. According to someone who used to work there, there was a lot of water damage several years ago and it can only have gotten worse.

The tax sale in North Dundas is the old Nestle plant in Chesterville. Min bid is $482,337. According to the local press, the  current owner is a family trust in Toronto which purchased the property for $500,000 several years ago. They then sold the waste water lagoon to the township for $900,000.   The property includes a brick farmhouse that was the plant manager's home and "substantial freshwater well resources". It was the oldest nestle plant in north America.  Any takers?

Did a quick google search on "Les Pisrael". Found comments posted by someone by that name on many sites. Most of them were over-the-top government conspiracy postings. Bush and Israel were behind 9/11, Bill Clinton was in on it, etc.

Municipality here is stuck with a golf course they can't seem to get rid of. Township owns the land, and has run it at a loss since the club went broke a couple years ago. Desperate to sell, they can't get a decent offer as a golf course. They will probably have to sell and allow the new owner to develop the peoperty.

The high min. could esily be the result of the township having to clean up a burned out or condemed building. Also, does anyone know wether unpaid water or other municipal services would be added to the min? I would assume so. As a taxpayer, I would expect my council to try to recoup any and all money owed to us, the taxpayers, by the property owner, through any legal means available to them.

You should be able to get a lower price if you buy the shares, since the sellers will pay less tax, but you take on any liabilities of the company, including any litigation that could crop up from the past.Any debt should be easy enough to ascertain, but who knows what lawsuits could be lurking. Talk to a lawyer about seperating the company's liability from your personal or other buisiness interests. If it is a partnership, not a corporation, rules may be diferent.

Most of you guys have a long way to go (did anyone say "useless posts to post"?). Look at me, I am over 130, less negative karma than Rob, not there yet.

The number of posts needed for entering the private posts seems to be somewhere between 150 to 240. Netpred is the advanced member with the lowest number of posts at 240. The highest platinum is 133. PFM1011 has top spot at 716. It will take a lot of typing to try to gain entry with "useless posts".

Of course, we don't know if the neibour was interested in the land, or was concerned for his neibour's welfare. Still, the point remains, don't talk to the owner.
