Introduce Yourself / Greetings from Ottawa

Hello everyone.
I just discovered this website and thought that I would have a go. I have always been interested in the potential of buying property like this. I just turned 37 and feel that I should atleast own something. You know? I rent downtown Ottawa but the costs associated with buying are so astronomical that I rent and frankly for me it's a good way to save some money and time and effort. But would like to invest and land is always a good option.. so here I am. Looking forward to learning more.
Question - is anyone a member of the Ontario Tax Sales? I was thinking about getting a Gold membership for a month but not sure if there is any value to it. Any suggestions.
