I believe that the municipality cannot accept less than the outstanding tax as it is set out under the Municipal Act as to how they much they can accept. If they do not get the amount asked for, then they have the option of taken legal ownership of the land and they could then use it for municipal purposes or then sell it at a later date, for whatever fair market value is.  (Im not sure of the procedure to make this done.)

Also keep in mind, currently, property taxes are the only way that municipalities generate revenue to provided services to the residents.  So it does not make sense to accept anything less.

What you have there is a GEOwarehouse search. It gives you information about the property from the land registry office and the assessment office.

To get lien and mortgage information , you need to do a full property search through Teranet or the local registry office.

The cost for a search through Teranet is about $25 and the cost through the local registry office is about $9.00.  The benefit to Teranet is that you can search all across Ontario and the local office is just that local.

As to whether it is good enough. I would suggest you get as much info as you can. You cant go wrong with it.
Does it comply with copy right information? - The information from Teranet or the local registry is public information so there is no issue.
