Brantford Tax Sale

Just got off the phone with the City of Brantford Planning Department.  We were thinking of putting in a bid on 91 Bircketts Lane a 1.58 lot within the city. Our plan was to put a home and a large garden.

The planning dept said the property was Medium Density Residential so you would not be able to put in a single family home.  There is a housing development that is being submitted for the lands east and the city would like to have the land developed along with it, so you could hold it and maybe in 1, 2, 5 years it might get developed. The problem is the First Nations has several land claims in this area, including this property.

The property is a nice sheltered treed location, it looks like there was a house on the property at one time.  If the Indians decide to protest agianst development, they would most likely setup their tents on this site.
