Cobourg I thought I would add my 22 cents worth

The current tax sale in Cobourg illustrates the risk of not doing your research.  Former contaminated site and it has cost a little to fix ?
(I wonder if it really is) the site.  As a result the property is now listed in the tax sale for a minimum bid of $1,493,156 and 22 cents.    

I find this amount a little more extravagant then I normally bid so I think personally I will pass as I can't even come up with the deposit.  Maybe someone on this board will have the spare change to bid or alternatively maybe we can ask OTS to feature it on their sites as a bargain not to be missed.  

Of course if we wanted to be mean about 30 or 40 of us should get together and submit bids that that would be ruled invalid.   I wonder what the town would do if you submitted a bid 1 cent less then the 20%.  ie.  20% of 22 cents = 4.4 cents and you bid 4 cents. Ignoring the rest of the numbers which are outside my affordability range.    

Might make a fun bid opening to attend.   It might help if we spread a rumour that the chemicals have all interacted and there is a valuable mineral deposit under the town. Its the sort of thing I might give as a tip for the next investment opportunity I get from overseas.
