Well, at least I know what to tell my bank, I wanted to put an offer in on these two properties, I thought it was worth this money, but you are right, it was a tax sale, you do not pay this kind of price. I looked at this property, I thought it was worth more than this, it is nice flat land, with trees, access to a main road (highway 3, which may open this land to development, ie sewers are coming to rural areas, especially in the general townships, due to environmental issues). The 6 acres is a nice piece of property, for $25,050. Although, the train yard is right behind it. But, there are at least 10- $300,000+ homes in behind this area.

You won't see sewers or water in that are within my grandchildren's lifetime - and none of my kids are even married yet.   It's just simply a nice piece of rural real estate - but not worth that much, in that area.

As to the one by the train yard.  You are right, there are more expensive properties in the area, but they have quite a buffer to rail yard - this one butts right up to it and is only good for light industrial use (since there are no services in that area and again probably won't be for a long long long time), this is a piece of real estate that is of use to someone who has the right use for it.

Regardless, the sale is over.
