Wanted: Cdn shield waterfront, 2 1/2 hrs max. from Ottawa

I realize I?m not necessarily going to get my dream property by tax sale, but hey, the people on this board seem to really have their ear to the ground so maybe somebody knows of a property for sale privately. We actually found our perfect property a few weeks ago, at a reasonable price. It was a private sale we stumbled across while visiting an MLS listed lot on the same road. And in spite of the property being listed for at least a year, we were two days too late as someone else saw the property the day before and ended up buying it. Noooo! 

Here are our minimum specs:

Waterfront ? rocky, clear, at least 150? frontage

Lot ? at least 1 acre, geologically interesting (I don?t want a field)

Access ? by road, seasonal and/or ROW acceptable

Building ? cleared lot wanted, outbuilding(s) and/or dock a bonus. We plan on building ourselves (eventually, when we retire) so we don?t want to pay for a cottage we?ll be tearing down anyway. But a mis-used old shack that doesn?t add to the value of the property would certainly ease our occasional camping trips to the property, as well as potentially ease the issuing of a future building permit. This is what led me to look at tax sales in the first place. What better place to find abandoned old cabins for sale?
