I had some investigative involvement in removing tanks and cleaning up surrounding soil about 12 years ago. Back then it was $100,000 and up for removal of old tanks and surrounding soil. We're not talking about leaking tanks either.

I've had some experience with contaminated sites as well.  In a tax sale you don't have the opportunity to do that type of investigation in advance.  You'd be surprised at what people will bid on in a sale of this nature...looking for the Bart Simpson steal of a lifetime.
