Privacy Issues?

Does anyone have an opinion for/against the restrictions on viewing a tax sale listings, on Tri-Target's website, for example, that requires one to become a member in order to view the listings detailed info? It seems to be pretty well SOP that clicking a municipal website link to view info takes you directly to Tri-T's webite. I, for one, am dead set against giving out my private info, especially after reading all their legal mumbo etc, that means, as far as I can figure out, that even though they state that they will never reveal or use your info for other purposes, or to third parties, IF THEY DO SO, or re-purpose the info, you have no comeback whatsoever! In that vein, I cannot fathom why they would need anything other than email & credit card info to complete a transaction. I have an unlisted address, and it's going to stay that way.
I am not picking on Tri-Target, but merely using their name as an example, as I am not back in the game for a while yet, perhaps nevermore, and they are the only such company mentioned on this site at present. I know there were others before them, but I have no time to search them out.
Just curious.

Restrictions! Good grief! On the Springwater sale I just drove over and picked up a package. Life should be easy. All I wanted was something easy that someone my age could remember so I thought that I would make it the same as on OTS. No such luck. The Tri-target police wanted some convolution that I could not remember - some combination of this and thats. Lower case, upper cases, numerics! Before responding I thought that I would once again give it a try. I just wasted over half an hour and was never able to get anything better than "pKzYUKA1Ue", apparently randomly generated by some computer that hates me. Oh well, sory for the rant. I guess I will just have to write it down. Who knows, maybe it will grow on me and I will want change all my other log ons to pKzYUKA1Ue.
