Ontario Government Renovation Grants??

I am sure most of you who bought houses or cottages from Ontario tax sales must have gone through some sorts of renovation.
So I presume you must have heard of "government grants for home improvements".
I found a couple of companies acting as agents to get available grants for you from Ontario Government.
Would anyone be able to further elaborate on such government programs for home renovations?
Please first check out the following interesting links:
1. Get up to $5,000 Ontario renovation grants:

2. Government Grants Guaranteed:

A few years back my husband and I used the Energy Audit grants. We put in new furnace and A/C, insulated the attic and basement. If I remember correctly we got total rebates of about $7,000.00. It was a great program, but if you read your first link the program doesn't exist any more. I think your 2nd link is also an old one as it mentions 2010.
Keep in mind the grants are only for energy saving renovations. There are still some rebates out there. We recently bought a new home and received $800 back on a new furnace.

Thank you, Paris.
That is what we are planning to do also with our house- insulating the attic, new windows, a new furnace and a new hot water tank, insulating the basement, etc.. The cost for the house renovation turned out to be so much more than what I had initially anticipated, so any financial assistance at this time is indeed a big bonus for us.
In order to be eligible, do you have to call in for an audit BEFORE you actually start renovating?
Who did you contact?

We had the audit done before and after.
The program is no longer available though.
All I've seen recently is a rebate we got on our new furnace/air. It was a total of $650 if I recall correctly.

Hey Matt (and anyone else doing renos) -- if you're an Enbridge customer, they have a program running right now for energy efficient upgrades made before the end of 2014:
http://knowyourenergyscore.ca/community-energy-conservation/
There is also a geographic requirement, so you have to live in the 'right neighbourhood' to qualify, which you'll see on the link above. I.E., I'm an Enbridge customer but my neighbourhood doesn't make the list. Grant value is up to $2K.
Cheers,
