Alberta's two major cities Edmonton and Calgary start advertising tax sales in March, and they have auction dates set in April each year.
I have heard that they sell lands at FAIR MARKET VALUE.

But yeah, Alberta is having a hard time right now for sure.
My sis who lives in Edmonton says that many resale houses are vacant..

The main impact will be down the road a bit but the time to investigate and decide a strategy starts now.  

Rob has kindly given us a lot of information about Alberta so I assume not all sales are at fair market value.

where the opportunity is requires further research.
