Finding Address from Roll No, Lot #, or Plan

I see that the properties for sale don't generally list address but a Roll Number, Lot, or Plan number. Does anyone know how I can find these on a map (google earth or mapquest) if I don't know the address?

The Municipality will usually supply you with copies of assessment and or zoning maps which clearly show the location of the property in question, and you can go from there with other sources. This information is normally included in the package of information supplied (sometimes for a fee over the counter, through the mail, or fax), and in many cases nowadays you can view the maps on line at the municipalities web-site (if they don't show it in the ad, just go to google and type in the name of the municipality and it will come up). Most Municipalities also have copies of their official plans and zoning by-laws on-line and you can most often find the locations in those documents.
