Writ Excecution Vs. Title Check

Can someone explain to me the difference between these 2, and what information each will give you?

A writ is a document directing the Sheriff to seize property.  A title search is a form showing who owns a property and has interests in it (liens, mortgages,etc.)

I was under the impresion that a "writ of exicution" was a search done on an individal, namely the listed owner/s of the property. And the "Title Search" is actualy searching the property for any liens against it?

a "title search" will list what has happened at the local LRO for a property.  Charges/Mortgages, Tax Sale Certificates, Transfers, etc.

My research now leads me to believe that a writ of execution iscalled a Writ of Seizure and Sale in Ontario so I was confused.  A writ of execution directs the sheriff to seize and sell property of a perosn.
