There are new tax sale listings. Could I dare to ask you, the most experienced ones, what do you know about Thorold? One of the listings is subject to few executions (if enforceable). One is "landlocked". What does "landlocked" mean? One is listed for a minimum of $100,000 for 6 AC. Is this worthed?

There are two pieces which are old industrial sites with huge minimums ( cleanup costs) so not worth it  and will just end up in city hands . 100k for 6 or 10 acres of dirty land in the middle of nowhere ..not worth 1/10 th of the minimum  these will go to the city.. run run run 

Land locked means you are surrounded so you can never build ( no frontage)  and legally you can only get to your property by helicopter so forget that, unless you have a helicopter ( If you do lets go for a spin, I will cover the gas) . The piece there is on a hill behind a house , virtually worthless

Thorold is a fairly dead town where you can buy a house for 120 ( not a nice house, but a house) No jobs and I think no development.

The 23 acres is mostly Open space and some D ( non buildable ) abutting EC and railroad tracks so I think it is worthless , If it is worth any  money it will redeem. There is several lots abutting in the D zone that arent, and I suspect, cant be built on . They were severed and sold in the 90's so I think we have some more of the "who needs city approval" planning going on that ran rampant around Niagara county

I'm in for the chopper ride, as long as we can do a fly-by of the falls while we are up there.   pfm - you are pretty much correct on all counts.

Ironically, or perhaps error-onically (if there is such a word), the OntarioTaxSales.ca site shows this property as a 'yes' for the can I get a building permit section.  I'm sure it is a mistake, and besides you would have to have all the building material and labour choppered in.  Pretty expensive piece of land for Thorold.

Am I too pushy if I ask you about Napanee, too? Are these OK, no industrial, no landlocked, no spill, no contamination there?
