GOOD MORNING
«

I am new to the site, after seeing a story about tax sales on the news.
My husband and I are looking for our first home...and were wondering if anyone knows of sales in the Durham Region...
we thought that this was an amazing way to get into the housing market as we are both quite "handy" and are really optimistic that we will find something great!
Any ideas of where I can find foreclosures or slightly distressed homes at a great price?!
thanks!

There has been nothing in the last few weeks in Durham. We've gotten southwestern ontario's properties, northern Ontario properties and some places I'm not even sure where they are located. Stay tuned Durham properties popup randomly like most regions and you might get luckly in the next few weeks and find that fixerupper first home.
If you want to get an idea what has been out there in the past. Go to
http://www.taxsaleproperty.org
and browse the older listings. Or click on the 2005 link in the menu to get even older properties. Some cities hold their tax sales on a certain day every year while other cities/regions hold them every few months.
If there any city/county you are really focused on? (Maybe you want to live in Whibty but not Ajax)
What newspaper did you read an article about tax sale properties in?
