I see the Timmins tax sale has some sales of mining claims.  Has anyone ever bought successfully a mining claim at tax sale.  I know a claim is good for 20 years and is 16 hectares or 40 acres.

The problem is on each claim you have to do $400 of assessment work ANNUALLY which presumably the previous claim owner has not done or they would not be up for tax sale.

If this is not done the claim lapses so it would make sense to restake it rather then spending the money at the tax sale.  Comments??

Any one with mining claim tax sale experience?  I could always use some gold to pay for Netpreds beer.
