There are several places on-line that you can find companies providing Title Searches. Some things to watch out for when ordering a Search:Are all disbursements included? Is there a Report or some type of explanation included showing what registrations affect properties after a tax sale?If you can get a full search for $35.00, then I would absolutely take advantage of that price - however, speaking from experience, this may not include all Disbursements (these can range from Charges, Deeds, Transfers to R-Plans and much more pertinent information); the Search also may not include a Report of Title, rather something along the lines of a simple Parcel Register and Execution Search. There are many contributing factors - When ordering a Title Search - make sure your getting the Biggest Bang for your buck at the same time are protecting your potential investments as much as possible. We offer 'Title Search Reports' on Tri-Target.com ONLY for our members & Good News - Membership is FREE - So there are no hidden costs - Our Title Search Reports typically start at $99.99 + and Our 'Updated Title Search Reports' starting at around $64.99 - Just visit our website @ www.Tri-Target.com to check availability or send us an email and inquire directly - we are always willing to customize our services as much as possible to suit our members needs. Our prices will vary depending on the amount of disbursements, writs, etc. BUT when ordering Title Search Reports from our company you will receive ALL Disbursements (NOT Including Deleted Instruments) - You will also receive a Report explain exactly what is on title at the time we prepared the Report; this will go over everything from any affecting registrations such as, Executions/Writs, Rights of Way, Easements, Restrictive Covenants, Mortgages or Other Registrations that will affect the property after a Tax Sale and much more.We can also offer BASIC Title Search Reports - These ONLY Include a PIN/Parcel Register and an Execution Search including all active Writs - But Does NOT Include any disbursements or a detailed report regarding the status of title. Depending on the amount of registered owners this price can vary; though starts at around $50.00If you would like to see samples of our Tri-Target Title Search Reports or Updated Reports, email us and we'll send one over as soon as possible.Hope this helps! The Team @ Tri-Target.comHere are some places that you can purchase Title Searches...http://www.Tri-Target.com/ http://www.OntarioTitleSearch.ca/http://www.TitleSearchers.ca/OntarioTaxSales.ca/
Jude. I doubt that driving to the land registry will do you any good. As I understand it, what Tri-Target is selling is interpretation, so that the extracted information is actionable. Title searching is iterative, that is, one thing leads to another, so there is a lot more to it than just printing out documents yourself to save some money. As to the 35.00 I suspect Dave2 divided the $70.00 fee by 2 but I am sure that only one Vaughan parcel was being searched, and not the one with over 2 million owing. I do not mean to be critical. If I was in your position I would buy a title search, and then drive to Service Ontario and see if you could have drawn the same conclusions. I notice that Tri-Target is even offing to send an old search for free so that you can judge for yourself. Or better still, give the Tri-target or OTS search to your lawyer and see if he/she thinks you are receiving value for the money spent. If the land registry is not located near where you live or work, then there are other costs to be considered.
