I had to see what could possibly have a $2M penalty and back taxes (Property Sale #1).

Golf Course, Club House, Condos and/or Hotel. On the west side of the main parcel divide, not so obvious because its flattened by the perspective, Ski Lifts and Ski hills.

So I'm guessing this is the Talisman Resort.

Any chance this is politically motivated?  Won't get redeemed?

Talisman has been in this situation before. Hard to say if it will get redeemed or not. If rezoned, it would make an excellent residential project. Don't know if there is enough infrastructure nearby to support a large amount of new homes. I'm always surprised at the distance people will travel from home to work.
