newbie clarification

(1/1)

newrevolt:
i have been researching alberta listings for quite a while. but i just wanted to clarify... am i right when i say, after the tax sale process has taken place, the old owner has no way of redeaming their old property? no even in the year following like in BC? and if this is correct, why? just different laws? i am a bit confused as to this, so any help would be amazing. thank you. and is there any other sources anyone can recommend, like literature, web sites, etc.. thank you.

Rob:
The redeaming period I believe takes place a year before the property goes for public auction in Alberta, where as BC would be different and Ontario is different in other ways while other provinces such as Qeubec have no  tax sales.

TW:
Thanks for the info,i like the no redemption after the sale in Alberta ;D That'll teach 'em to pay their taxes.
