$10 & more bid pkgs, no online pkgs, no deeds for days & weeks

Does anyone else think the same as me? I think the cost of bid pkgs should be included in their mimimum bid figure. I don't mind paying postage but $10 is outrageous. I had one office quote $10/property! Anyone should also be able to print a bid pkg from an online source. Another bug is not being able to get the deed within 24 hours: what is it with 7 - 10 days. My first win, being an innocent, I asked when I could get the deed, and was asked "do you have the funds with you?" I went back the next day & obtained a registered deed. In some of the northerly communities, even they are irritated that they have to wait for clearances from Northern Mines & Development, sometimes taking 5 to 6 weeks. I'm not saying we should berate anyone in any office, but some gentle suggestion to one's MPP or MP could perhaps get the Northern Mines & Development people moving a little bit quicker. I think it's a huge waste of everyone's time that everyone calls the tax officer to get separate answers about individual properties, when the info they have could be included in the adverts with a disclaimer to cover their backside. Change can come if everyone calling in will make gentle suggestion to municipal officers.

Hey how about this, I came 2nd on one and I can't get my deposit back until the deal is completely done with the winning bid, and because Christmas is coming it won't be complete for 6 to 8 weeks and thats if the winning bid pays right away.

That's actually good - because if the winning bid doesn't pay, you're the ONLY one in line to win!

Dogbone, I think that you could successfully argue that, if the buyer has brought in the total balance owing, it's time to get your money returned. However some municipalities shovel everything off to the lawyer, who goes to work at top speed, so you should get it back in June.

I voiced some displeasure at the bid opening but it went upon deaf ears, I'll wait, now if the first guy doesn't take it, and I decide also not to take it do we both lose our deposits? ( I will take it though)
Lawyers and June sounds about right.

The winning bidder has two weeks to come up with the cash for the balance (from the date they are notified that they were successful). After that point in time - which would be about three weeks, they would go to you and ask if you wanted to complete the deal.
Barring any of that, and if the winning bid turns in the money, then you should have no problem with getting your money - in three weeks. If the tax collector gives you a hard time on that, then please give me more details and I will read him the riot act - they have no legal reason to hold your money any longer.

They said the delay was due to the Christmas holidays, they said the wait is usually 3-4 weeks.
